How Purposeful Cares for the Development of Its Community
It is one thing to awaken a person and another to keep them company through a life. The Purposeful Foundation does not understand its task as the delivery of a course that ends, but as the tending of a community that continues, and tending is the right word, for a community of this kind is far more like a garden than a machine. It is not assembled and switched on; it is planted, watered, weeded, and given time, and it matures at the pace of living things. The care Purposeful means to offer is the care a gardener gives: patient, attentive, and content to let growth take the time that growth takes. The garden image is useful if tending remains mutual. It becomes dangerous if an institution casts itself as gardener and participants as plants to be shaped.
