If You Are Gathering Communities
2 minutes read.
If you are someone who already convenes communities of practice—contemplatives, technologists, ecologists, governance practitioners, regenerative-economy builders, AI safety researchers, trauma-informed therapists, or any of the other lineages the book has named—the request is to consider whether your community would benefit from being in contact with the others.
The chapter on builders made the case directly: the regenerative-coordination world and the inner-development world rarely overlap, the AI alignment community operates in relative isolation from the relational and governance work that determines whether alignment can be achieved at the civilizational level, and the bioregional coordinators rarely have access to the coordination-infrastructure builders who could amplify their work. This is not because anyone is doing anything wrong. It is because the connective tissue has not been built. Anyone who is in a position to begin building that connective tissue, at whatever scale their conditions allow, is doing work the book has been arguing is urgently necessary.
This work does not require permission. It does not require anyone to wait for Providence to mature, for the field to recognize itself, or for institutional structures to authorize the convening. The work is to bring together the people who should be talking to each other and to trust that what happens between them will produce more than what either side could produce alone.
