The Whole, Briefly

145 words, about 1 minute.

Human potential is the most underused resource on Earth. People come alive when they discover their purpose, when they are recognized for what they carry, when they find the people they were meant to build beside, and when they are given real work to contribute. Almost none of this is arranged on purpose; nearly all of it is left to luck.

Providence is the name for a coordinating device that would change that—built on one inversion: that systems exist to serve life, and not life to serve systems. It helps people discover purpose, find one another at the human scale where they can truly be known, and contribute what only they can. Enough such communities, sovereign and cooperating, begin to compose something far larger: a living planet waking to itself through us. This book is the smallest container built to hold that whole idea.
