The Coherence Engine and the Reflective Mirror

To be seen accurately — not flattered, not judged, but genuinely seen — is among the rarest experiences a human being can have. It is also, it turns out, the engine of development.
— The Coherence Thesis, Vol. II
The four streams produce continuous, multimodal data during and after every genuine encounter in the network. The system that integrates them is what we call the Providence Coherence Engine. Its function is twofold: to fuse the four streams into a real-time portrait of the encounter — the minting of the currency — and to return to the participants something of extraordinary value, which is the second and equally important half of the engine's purpose.
The currency thus minted has a name: COHERENCE — the unit in which presence and presencing are remembered, the substance of what this work calls the Currency of Presence. And while the four streams, the Bio-Consensus, are its primary source, they are not its only one. A community may also attain COHERENCE, ancillary to the streams, through the validated practice of gathering rightly in true council — what a later volume will name Proof of Council. The body's honest signals are the first and chief way the currency is earned; the honoring of genuine council is the second. Both mint the one currency.
The fusion works by what engineers call late integration: each stream is processed independently — the linguistic structure, the vocal autonomics, the cardiac rhythm and its synchrony, the pulse morphology and its endocrine signatures — and the streams are then combined into a single moment-by-moment reading of the encounter's coherence. Where the streams agree, confidence is high. Where they disagree — where the words say one thing and the heart says another — the disagreement is itself information, often the most revealing information of all. The engine maps the full arc of the encounter: where presence was high and where it faltered, where the two participants entered presencing and where they fell out of it, where something genuine occurred and where performance took its place.
