What we know.

579 words, about 3 minutes.

- The unit is sound. A Scale is a Community on Land, entered through the Doors, coordinated by the Membrane, provisioned by the Currency of Presence, kept honest by the Coherence Engine. We have walked its logic end to end across nine volumes. - The incentive is the inversion. The whole stack rewards right relation rather than extraction. Care for each other and the land is the productive act. We are confident this is the correct fulcrum to move a world on. - The door is initiation. Entry through genuine presence — and a regular commitment to explore, and to be one's word — is what makes the network un-spammable and the membership real. - The first ground exists. The Cardinal Scale is not a hypothesis. It is a hundred and eight to a hundred and fifty people in a real watershed, the founding core of the first Scale, growing toward the bioregional size — and the proof, once it holds, that a single such Scale not only can be lived but can thrive. - The sequence is settled. Proof of life before proof of scale, always. We grow no faster than trust can be built.

*What we do not know — and where, therefore, you come in.* Read this as a map of doors; feel for the one with your name on it.

- The long-horizon currency. We know COHERENCE is minted by presence and presencing and held on-device. We have been candid since Volume III that the accumulation of relational standing into a portable store of value robust enough to govern access to material life runs straight through one of the hardest unsolved problems in technology — decentralized trust, at scale, in a signal people are incentivized to game. We begin where the value is already real (presence in gathering, where nothing must be stored to be real) and walk toward the horizon one solved problem at a time. We need the mechanism designers. - The legal vessel and patient capital. How Community, Land, and a presence-based currency hold together under existing law, funded by capital patient enough to wait on the timescale of trust and soil rather than the quarter. We need the lawyers, the structurers, and the founders of a commons. - The adaptive adversary. The dangerous moment is not failure but success — the moment a working Scale becomes worth capturing and worth neutralizing. Power studies the architecture that resists it and evolves past it. Our only sufficient defense is an immune system of distributed human vigilance, which means a sufficient density of people who understand the architecture deeply enough to protect it in forms its builders never specified. We need the ones who can hold both vigilance and trust at once. - Measurement without surveillance. How to read presence and never build the database that would make it the most dangerous instrument ever conceived — held honestly to the four tiers of evidence, the established never dressing the speculative in borrowed authority. We need engineers who can hold a paradox without dropping either half. - Scaling the Doors and the council. Initiation and council are small, slow, human; the network is large and fast. How the keystone practices scale without hollowing, and without crossing the relational-coherence threshold past which people become strangers. We need the facilitators and culture-keepers who know the practice is the product.

We could have hidden this list. We did not, because the people we are looking for are not reassured by certainty. They are summoned by an honest unsolved problem.
