Coda: In Plain Terms
161 words, about 1 minute.
In plain terms: a single Cardinal Scale is not the goal — it is a single cell. The goal is thousands of them, recognizing one another, until the earth has grown something it never had: the capacity to feel itself and respond. — The Cardinal Scale knows it is not the whole body. It is one scale on a creature still waking. That humility — being a part, never the whole — is the last and hardest structural tendency this book can teach.
Toward the coherent substrate. Here the pivot reaches its horizon: from an earth treated as a stock to be drawn down, to an earth that — through the communities learning to sense and regenerate their own places — slowly grows the capacity to feel and tend itself. That is the coherent substrate at planetary scale: not control of the earth, but coherence with it. We do not claim to know we will arrive. We claim it is the most viable thing to build toward.
