To Meet Each at Their Depth

The first principle of that care is the pacing of depth, carried now beyond the curriculum into the whole life of the community. A person is met where they are and offered what they are ready for: refuge first, for those who arrive in need of it, then practice, then, in time, the invitation to extend to others the sanctuary they were given. No one is hurried, and no one is held back. The community is arranged so that a newcomer in need of shelter and a practitioner ready to teach can stand in the same room, each receiving what is theirs to receive. A person should be offered refuge or practice without diagnosis, and be free to refuse either. Material shelter must never depend on spiritual participation, mentor approval, or progress through the curriculum.
