To Meet Each at Their Depth

The first principle of that care is the metering of depth, carried now beyond the curriculum into the whole life of the community. A person is met where they are and offered what they are ready forrefuge first, for those who arrive in need of it; then practice; then, in time, the invitation to extend to others the sanctuary they were given. No one is hurried, and no one is held back. The community is arranged so that a newcomer in need of shelter and a practitioner ready to teach can stand in the same room, each receiving what is theirs to receive.
