In plain terms: no one is being asked to join something finished. You are being asked to help find out whether it can existand in return, the thing commits something back to you. — Every single person at the Cardinal Scale was once someone who looked at an unfinished, uncertain experiment and said yes anyway. There is no other kind of founder. The invitation is exactly as honest, and as serious, as that. And it is not only into the communities: to read this, to ask it questions, to carry its thinking to others, is already to be inside the network it describesfor the network is built, first, of people who came to understand.

Toward the coherent substrate. The pivot cannot be made by a few. It needs a building intelligenceas many minds as possible, now, brought around the work of leaving extraction behind. That is what the invitation is for, and why these volumes are being made into something you can question, argue with, and carry forward. To understand this is already to join the pool from which the substrate gets built.
